Job Description:
L3Harris Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician B to support the manufacturing/integration of large strategic satcom antenna systems. This effort is based in Malabar, FL and supports various field assignments both CONUS and OCONUS. This is an opportunity to take on unique challenges, expand your skills and experience, and contribute to mission critical systems solutions that keep our war fighters safe.
Essential Function:
- Support manufacturing/integration of large satellite antenna systems predominantly on field assignments
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or schematics to perform work duties
- Assemble electrical components, cable harnesses, and subassemblies
- Work in a team environment supporting the overall mission within scheduled timeframe
- Support fly-away tech assists repairing/refurbishing large satellite antenna systems and ancillary equipment
- Mechanical assembly of hardware using automated tools
- Identifying process improvements for streamlining installation process
- Work under direct supervision using a prescribed set of processes and procedures
- Ability to travel to military bases both CONUS and OCONUS
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to be on field assignment for consecutive months
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (forklifts, etc)
- Ability to lift > 32 lbs
- Ability to work in tight/confined spaces
- Ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Hands-on in the manufacturing of electronics for military and government systems is preferred
- Working knowledge of IPC/J-STD workmanship requirements. Specifically, IPC-A600, IPC-6012/6013, as well as MIL-Spec-55110 and MIL-Spec-31032
- Knowledge of metrology or use of a theodolite
- Experience working with manufacturing of circuit card assemblies
- Experience working with antennas and integrated RF Systems
- Experience with RF test equipment
- Prior SATCOM experience a bonus
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to perform work under general supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office® applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
