Job Description:
The Software Engineer will join a product development team chartered with developing creative solutions to automate functions performed by internal engineering teams and client facing groups. This role will develop applications and tools that reduce the total cost of deploying a mission-critical communications system. The Engineer will employ a holistic approach to gathering information with cross-functional teams to define requirements and acceptance criteria.
Essential Functions:
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.
- Work closely with cross functional members of the organization to understand their needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation.
- Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.
- Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, HTML5, SQL, ASP.NET) on Windows and Linux platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and 2 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 6 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Cloud-based software development (ex: AWS, Azure, NoSQL databases, IoT frameworks, etc.)
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline experience (ex:Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
- Distributed version control experience (ex: Git)
- Front-end web development (ex: Angular, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, Javascript) and Back-end web development (ex: Java, ASP.NET core)
- Experience with Land Mobile Radio and Radio Frequency technologies
