Job Description:
Performs integration, test, installation and customer support, as well as performing necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of Air Traffic Management (ATM) Radar systems. Tests and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters. Interprets customers' needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to Program Management or Business Development. Up to 60 days of continuous travel may be required.
Essential Functions:
- Perform integration and testing per procedures of newly built Precision Approach Radar (PAR) Systems.
- Perform field installation of PAR systems within the Continental United States (CONUS) & outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) customer sites.
- Set up and operate Radio Frequency (RF) test equipment in accordance with test procedures.
- Utilize RF test equipment to demonstrate proper function or to analyze malfunctions using manufacturer’s manuals and specifications.
- Repair, replace and adjust equipment or components.
- Inspection of RF components of equipment for accurate assembly and for defects such as loose screws, nuts connections and frayed wires.
- Consult with other Field Engineers, supervisors, and other engineers to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operations and maintenance.
- Perform installation of repaired equipment in various settings, such as industrial and military establishments.
- Ability to climb both vertical ladders and stairways and work in tight spaces.
- To stand, kneel, extend overhead for prolong periods of time.
- Complete all required documentation for review and submission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience troubleshooting equipment, reading and interpreting RF/electronic/mechanical schematics
- 4 years of related military experience or 2-year technical degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Clearance: Department of Defense (DoD) Secret; or the ability to acquire
- Highly motivated, self-starter and willing to learn.
- Technical understanding of military (and/or civilian) radar equipment in Air Traffic/Air Defense environments.
- Demonstrable understanding of radar/communications systems principles, theory and application in practice.
- Tests, packs, ships, installs and operates RF/Radar systems/equipment at various remote locations.
- Troubleshooting and repairs of RF systems/equipment by reading and interpreting schematics and by using simple and complex test equipment.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $64,000 - $119,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
