Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician C—Rework Tech to join our team. The team member in this position will be able to rework existing assemblies back into working order or broken down into individual piece parts while maintaining high quality workmanship minimizing loss.
Essential Functions:
- Able to follow and comply with documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Assemble, align, and test, systems, components for optics assemblies and laser assemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure finished product meets established operational and cosmetic requirements
- Ability to work with RTV, epoxy, and other bonds/adhesives
- Ability to complete fine/complex assemblies with small components and apply bond/adhesives potentially with use of a microscope
- Ability to make fine adjustments while simultaneously monitoring computer/screen output of unit results
- Ability to operate complex active alignment stations and tooling
- Ability to use, read, and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices/tools
- Knowledge of electronic, optical and mechanical assemblies
- Performs basic computer activities with programs provided
- Identifies, utilizes, and performs preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required
- Comprehension of engineering prints and schematics
- Reports deviations from standard to appropriate resource for review, instruction and authorization and obtains quality inspection when appropriate
- Supports Lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
- Applies considerable math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals--Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Cultivates a culture that assures effective cross functional team work
- Performs job duties in a manner that complies with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values
- Participates in meetings and working groups to solve problems, communicate issues, obtain approvals, and maintains specific level of knowledge pertaining to new requirements or policies
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Moderate to advanced computer skills required (Excel, Word); LabView user interface experience
