Job Description:
The L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated experienced Network Engineer to join our FAA Surveillance & Automation Solutions team.
Essential Functions:
- Trouble-shoot network issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Review service level agreements with carriers and verify that the network meets the performance requirements.
- Review existing network implementation and recommending improvements.
- Conduct analysis of network usage and develop plan to meet future needs.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Configure dynamic routing protocols.
- Develop new network architectures based on operational requirements and growth plans.
- Provide daily engineering support (troubleshooting complex operational issues, performing root cause analysis, working with FAA staff, etc.) to a mission critical air traffic control system with a 0.99999 availability requirement.
- Integrate hardware and software system components within a lab environment.
- Perform integration of hardware and provide support to manage control stations across the US, Hawaii, and Guam.
- Provide networking support to multiple environments including development, test, CM, performance tuning and production.
- Provide network administration support to proposal and pursuits, including estimation of effort, and completion of Basis of Estimates.
- Work with network partners and technicians to troubleshoot system issues.
- Travel 10% as need to perform maintenance or troubleshooting.

Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in large-scale national and international network design, implementation, and operations.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Ability to conduct root-cause analysis of issues related to the network and recommend corrective action.
- Experience trouble-shooting complex systems consisting of hardware, software, and communications systems.
- Previous experience using Linux operating systems.
- Candidate should be able to work independently, able to prioritize customer issues and needs, and work across a wide variety of systems.
- The successful candidate will possess strong initiative with an ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience with FAA systems/programs is a plus.
- Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP.
- Previous experience working with telco service providers.
- Previous experience with multicast routing
- Previous experience with scripting languages
- Experience estimating engineering effort in support of network design, implementation, and operations.
- Cloud certification
