Job Description:

The Director, Program Management position will be responsible for leading a team of Program Managers, Senior Managers and System Architects to grow and manage the Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems Product Line reporting to the Acoustic Systems Business Area General Manager.  This position will also be responsible for strategic direction and overall program performance of the Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems Product Line. 

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes overall direction and adherence to company processes, policies, and systems. 
  • Develop a vision, strategy and associated tactics for the Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems Product Line that drives growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead the current business portfolio to achieve operational excellence, high customer satisfaction, maximization of revenue and profitability, high staff retention and continued growth.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with customers, industry teammates and functional partners.
  • Manage performance and execution of Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems Product Line Program Portfolio.
  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, and current programs.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Provide leadership to business development activities associated with Surface and Airborne Acoustic Systems Product Line programs, including strategic business planning, new business forecasting and strategic capture.
  • Conduct reviews & coordinate approvals of major bids and proposals to ensure success through opportunity, risk, and financial analysis. 
  • Translating strategic priorities into operational reality by aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems.
  • Establish, grow and maintain close customer relationships, participate in the marketing and sales process, and actively promote the organization’s capabilities and strengths; ensure that customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities.
  • Driving high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment through teamwork and empowerment; tenaciously work to meet or exceed challenging goals and foster continuous improvement.
  • Manage team of Program Managers, Senior Managers, and other Program Management Office Personnel.
  • Ensure effective management of assigned facilities to include EH&S performance.
  • Act as the Facility Security Program Senior Management Official (SMO) for the Herndon, VA, facility.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior Program Manager experience for DoD/DoN large program. (>$25M annual revenue.)
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior Program Manager experience for DoD/DoN large program. (>$25M annual revenue.)
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior Program Manager experience for DoD/DoN large program. (>$25M annual revenue.)
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • MS Engineering or MBA Degree.
  • Active US Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
