Job Description:

Responsible for planning, controlling and managing activities related to inventory control, shipping/receiving, storing and traffic analysis of materials or finished goods for sales warehouses, distribution centers, and factory mixing points to meet sales and distribution demand. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures. Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, planned production and sales forecasts. Oversees the liquidation and transfer of stock to reflect cost, age, and demand. Initiates immediate actions in out-of-stock situations. Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specifications and shipped in a timely manner. Ensures materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules. Responsible for coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments. May complete analysis on company/customer needs, transportation methods, and audit carrier costs and performance to select most efficient transportation options. Interprets laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

Essential Functions:

  • Employee will be included in the on-call rotation and must be willing to work overtime and off shift hours on short notice if/as required.
  • This position requires an Active DoD security clearance at the Secret level and must be able to maintain the clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • This position is within Depot Operations as a Material Coordinator supporting North End Programs, supporting 2nd shift operations.
  • Material Coordinator will identify and reconcile material shortages/requirements for planned orders and releasing production orders to support aircraft schedules and delivery. They will coordinate and initiate material movements between warehouse, production areas and offsite locations.
  • Material Coordinator will advise upper management and all affected functional areas of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided to meet the schedule. They will communicate in a professional manner both verbally and written with internal customers, hangar dock and line, program office, and all affected functional areas.
  • Applicant will be required to use both SAP and BSI programs and prior work experience in these programs is a plus but not required as the applicant will be properly trained.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area. Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area. Communicates with contacts within and outside of own team which may include customers or vendors. Explains and interprets operational processes, practices and procedures of the job area to others within the organization.
  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects or assignments. Sets objectives for own job area to meet the goals of projects and assignments. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support level employees.
  • Work consists of making basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems. Identifies, defines and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area with some impact on department results. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
  • Requires practical knowledge of job area.
  • SAP/BSI experience a plus, but not required
