Job Description:
- Performs functional test support operations based on standard operating and test procedures. Performs technical duties in operating, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and aligning of electronic/communication equipment. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize electronic test and measurement equipment to support general laboratory test and evaluation operations (Multimeter, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, etc.).
- May assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify processes.
- Assemble, configure, test, operate, and repair hardware in accordance with documentation provided.
- Perform benchtop functional testing with only the guidance of a test procedure and understand what the procedure is testing.
- Collect test data for review and analysis. Document equipment failures through designated reporting tools.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work area. Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to manager.
- Support facility operations through the completion of assigned tasks as directed by management.
- Should be able to aquire a Secret clearance. No travel is required. Working extended hours may be required.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Possess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn.
- Professional attitude and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Daily schedule and task flexibility with minimal notice.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word). Basic networking experience is also preferred.
- Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with working in an ESD safe environment.
- Familiar with standard electronic test and measurement equipment operations.
