Job Description:
Design and develop digital and analog circuit card assemblies for use on seabed hydrophone based systems and ranges. Perform circuit card and system test for on site qualification of electrical designs as well as off site field testing or troubleshooting of installed systems. Up to 30% travel on years that include ocean installation of one of our systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging industry standard tools such as LTSpice for analog design and Xilinx Vivado for digital design as well as PCB layout and schematic capture tools such as Cadence and Mentor Graphics.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating and integrating electronic equipment, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance hardware systems.
- Design circuit card assemblies from start to finish including digital HDL and/or Analog design including PCB layout and qualification test.
- Includes the application of specialized skill sets including digital, analog, FPGA, DSP, CCA, power, antenna, RF and control systems knowledge as required.
- Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- May use high level programming language to configure programmable logic devices.
- Excellent communication (both verbally and written), collaboration, time management, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Schematic capture, electrical simulation, PCB layout, Engineering test, Production test.
- Up to 30% field support (travel) for system installation in years when ocean installation of our systems occur. 10% travel otherwise for incidental field testing/troubleshooting.
- Ability to obtain security clearance at the DOD Secret level which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 4 years of prior relevant technical experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Proficiency in either analog and power or FPGA design required.
- Analog Design – General proficiency in circuit card design below 100MHz. Digital Design - Working knowledge of FPGA design and Verilog or VHDL.
- Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proficient in LTSpice, Cadence/Allegro PCB Designer, Mentor Graphics, VHDL and Verilog using Xilinx Vivado.
- Proficient in technical writing to include Electrical test procedures, specifications, white papers, design reviews and technical presentations.
- Experience with Class-D Power Amplifiers, Digitial Signal Processing for audio, impedance matching.
- Experience with EVMS and Control Account Management.
- Active DoD Security Clearance
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,500 - $158,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
