Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

The Quality Engineer will contribute to the company’s success by engaging with our stakeholders to prevent and correct quality issues.  This role will report directly to the Manager, Quality Engineering.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain monthly quality metrics and develop action plans to improve.

  • Focus on problem prevention, quality control, continuous improvement, data collection and reporting

  • Facilitate corrective and preventative action related to material quality issues.  Lead multifunction teams to find resolution to complex problems.

  • Manage material inspection plans and methods on incoming production material.

  • Evaluate and disposition rejected material from suppliers, manufacturing process, and/or customer returns.  Manage inventory held in quality hold locations with focus toward timely disposition.

  • Develop work instructions and train others on how to perform.  Determine priority of inspection work and make final judgements when determining conformance.

  • Facilitate Part/Process qualification.

  • Work with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition from concept to prototype to production on materials for new products.

  • Coordinate calibration program with 3rd party provider.

  • Travel up to 10%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.

  • Experience with Lean tools

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Communications (RF) Product experience

  • Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Tools including statistical process control, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Measurement System Analysis, Process Capability Studies.

  • Experience with Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Experience with ISO9001:2015, including internal auditing.

  • Experience with SAP, Agile, Oracle, IPC 610 / 620
