Job Description:
L3Harris growing Additive Manufacturing Technology Center in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality process improvements, part qualification, and QMS robustness to comply with AS9100. This position is responsible for collaborating with the dynamic team at Daytona Beach to support the implementation of new processes, process improvements, process quality controls to advance the production of additively manufactured rocket motors across multiple printing technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Actively collaborating with our materials group to verify quality of incoming raw materials and products in compliance with company requirements
- Performing system transactions and record retention for material certificates; engage supplier for any non-conformity
- Conducting in-process part inspection, visual, dimensional, and state-of-the-art part scanning via point cloud
- Ensuring all calibrated assets are active, labeled, properly stored and maintained
- Collaborating with the engineering team for process data collection and statistical analysis of process control
- Engaging operations and engineering to lead PFMEA to identify and minimize process risks
- Leading root cause analysis and problem resolution via 8D with the team and facilitation open discussions for corrective actions
- Ensuring all of our quality logs such as certificates and non-conforming reports are properly logged in the system
- Supporting the engineering team by conducting measurement system analyses
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Quality Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Qua;ity Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Quality Enginnering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with additive manufacturing
- Experience with part quality inspection using laser or structured light
- Experience using Oracle ERP system
- Solid understanding of GD&T, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, 8D.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include report writing, data analysis for decision-making, and process improvements
