About the role

The Quality Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards. This position involves developing and implementing quality assurance processes and our Quality Management System (QMS), collaborating with all functions of the business, to maintain and improve quality.

The Quality Systems Engineer reports into the Quality Assurance Manager, sharing responsibilities with other QA members.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Quality Control & Assurance

Ensuring that the business adheres to the defined Quality Management System processes, work instructions, standards and policies through internal auditing.

Ensuring the safety of the delivered products through safety audits and inspections, and ensuring that any product hazards are promptly addressed.

Maintaining metrics & KPI dashboards, measuring and reporting on our own internal operational and process performance and that of our suppliers against agreed targets.

  • Auditing & Compliance

Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with standards, customer requirements and internal processes.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards including ISO 9001.

  • Process Improvement

Updating and managing the QMS, improving the processes and work instructions through continual improvement and lessons learnt in conjunction with the process owners to ensure they are efficient, safe, and improve product reliability and performance.

  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis

Capture, investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, working with cross-functional teams on quality-related problems.

  • Training and Support for Quality Standards

Train and guide employees on quality procedures, QMS requirements, and best practices.

Provide ongoing support to other departments to ensure they understand and follow quality standards in their operations.

  • Communication

Establishing regular communication with internal functions, external suppliers and Customers.

What you’ll bring

  • Graduate degree in relevant field (2:1 or above) or relevant equivalent work experience. STEM or Quality related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, ideally in manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.
  • An aptitude for problem-solving and use of Quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto etc.
  • Strong experience in auditing. Lead Auditor trained preferred.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a programme team and engage with other functions.
  • Prepared to challenge constructively and raise issues and concerns that need addressing.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support the programme.
