Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for an experienced Satellite and Ground System Operator to join our team and perform real-time satellite operations supporting a program in the Missile Defense Agency at Schriever SFB, CO. This program falls within the Space Defense Solutions portfolio in the Space Superiority division in Colorado Springs. The operator is responsible for configuring the network ground system, perform troubleshooting actions in response to ground system anomalies and satellite anomalies, and perform overall command and control of satellite operations.
Essential Functions:
- Configure satellite ground system and network supporting satellite operations.
- Perform satellite telemetry, tracking, and commanding functions.
- Troubleshooting and solving network and ground system issues.
- Ability to work 24/7 schedule on operational floor including coordinating schedules and addressing backup coverage as necessary.
- Assist with development of training material and training of ground and satellite operators.
- Assist with development of operational procedures and checklists to support satellite operations.
- Provide operational inputs to engineer and test teams.
- Operations support includes attending Daily Operations Stand-up meetings, shift changeover meetings, inputs to monthly in-progress reviews.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- Experience as a Satellite Systems or Ground System Operator to include telemetry, tracking and commanding.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
