This position is full time, on-site, and in plant at our Carlsbald, CA facility. Must have a current and active Secret security clearance, and must have ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance post-hire.
Job Summary: L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious IT Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in both Linux and Windows environments, with an emphasis on adhering to the Risk Management Framework (RMF). This role requires an active Secret Clearance and involves maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of classified information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows-based systems within the company's operational infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are compliant with the RMF, including continuous monitoring and executing security controls.
- Perform regular system updates and patch management to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Implement and manage security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
- Conduct regular security audits to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to align IT infrastructure with established security policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users, addressing any system-related concerns.
- Document system configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup operations, and data restoration when necessary.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in IT systems administration with a focus on security.
- Proficiency in administering Linux and Windows server environments.
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and its application in securing IT systems.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and containerization.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Linux+, MCSE, or equivalent.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Prior experience working in a defense or government contracting environment.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $83,500 - $155,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
