Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Quality Engineering/Data Analytics Summer Intern to work at our Canoga Park, California location, supporting the Quality and Mission Assurance organization.
After orientation and training, interns will perform entry-level engineering, database management and data analysis tasks on rocket propulsion projects. Interns will support senior quality engineering/data analysis staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne. Interns must be able to operate effectively in a team environment. Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Essential Functions:
- This internship will familiarize the candidate with quality engineering tasks, related databases as well as the creation and use of metrics to measure effectiveness.
- The intern will support senior engineering staff and gain experience and familiarization with Aerojet Rocketdyne quality practices, databases and performance measurements. Tasks will vary but may include assisting engineering and analysis staff in in evaluating processes, developing metrics and investigating adverse trends to present to management, determine cause and implement correction actions.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program or higher in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or related majors.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Junior standing or above
- Solid academic track record of accomplishment
- Working knowledge of databases and Microsoft Software applications
- Excellent communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work with little direction
- Leadership & teamwork skills.
- Operate effectively within a team environment.
