We are seeking to fill an Intern – Structures & Dynamics Analysis Engineering role for Summer 2025 in our Canoga Park, CA Space Headquarters.
We are an innovative company delivering solutions that create value for our customers in the aerospace and defense markets. Aerojet Rocketdyne is a world-recognized aerospace and defense leader that provides propulsion and energetics to the space, missile defense and strategic systems, tactical systems and armaments areas, in support of domestic and international markets.
Summer internship will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Projects may focus on areas of analysis within the Structures & Dynamics (S&D) discipline. Tasks will vary but may include setup and operation of various finite element based structural analysis simulations to determine the loads, deflections and stresses/strains in propulsion system components analysis of liquid rocket propulsion systems and components, all under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or similar program) and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
Junior standing or above
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Leadership & teamwork skills
Coursework in Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Material Science, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Finite Element Methods
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25 -
$39 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based
on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a
variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The
specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire,
schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
