Job Description:

Under limited supervision, the Manufacturing Technician in collaboration with the Facilities team, conducts evaluation, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of Power Sources, load banks, cooling water systems, and other electrical infrastructure associated with the production test facilities.  Troubleshoots problems to individual part or board level. Utilizes general testing equipment, which includes but is not limited to, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, AC/DC clamp on ammeters, and custom-made test fixtures and test consoles. In the absence of established procedures, confers with Lead Test Technician, Supervisor or Manager-Test Department, or others as directed. Properly documents all findings as required and directed by departmental procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrating stringent electrical safety practices and protocols this individual will be responsible for maintaining the organization low and medium power test infrastructure.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs routine periodic maintenance of test department, load equipment, using available vendor and L3Harris provided documentation.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs routine periodic maintenance of test departments cooling water supply system(s), using available vendor and L3Harris provided documentation.
  • Utilize and follow routine preventive maintenance plans and update maintenance database after all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Perform all necessary corrosion control on equipment to ensure maximum uptime of equipment.
  • Identifies and initiates changes to maintenance documents as needed to ensure proper care of responsible equipment.
  • As directed by management, occasionally assists department personnel with troubleshooting test equipment and custom-made Test Fixtures and Test Sets using available documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Must be a leader in promoting sound electrical and general safety practices within the organization.
  • Must be able to correctly document specific details of each failure encountered, as well as document and update status of each assigned repair. 
  • Must be able to work well with interdepartmental personnel. 
  • Must be self-motivated and ability to handle multiple tasks within defined time limitations.
  • Apply considerable math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to perform simple algebraic computations of current, voltage, power, reactance, impedance, and frequency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Qualifications: 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to read, understand and accurately follow maintenance plans, testing procedures, and operating instructions and documents.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with basic analog, digital components, and circuitry.
  • Minimum 2 years experience analyzing and interpreting drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $53,000 - $99,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
