We have an opportunity for a Prinicpal level Electrical Engineer to join our talented engineering organization. Senior members of our design staff are technical leaders possessing expert understanding of aerospace electrical engineering and motion control technology for EO instruments and sub-assemblies.
The scope of the position requires a proven track-record with a range of responsibilities from requirements definition, conceptual trades, design & analysis to procurement and integration & test of sensor systems including precision scanning mirror systems, EO mechanisms, EO calibration systems and cameras for the aerospace and commercial community. Senior electrical engineers are responsible for leading engineering analysis and evaluation efforts of complex electrical systems, documenting design approaches, establishing design verification & validation, and developing plans to manufacture and test sensor systems and major sub-assemblies. Additional responsibilities include new business proposals and IRAD support, Tiger Team involvement, customer/sub-contractor/supplier interface, and the development junior and mid-level level staff.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 12 years of experience in developing electronic systems for aerospace & military defense applications
- Knowledge in sensor level and sub-assembly hardware design & development, analysis, integration, reliability, and risk mitigation for space-based environments
- Experience in analog and digital design, servo design, motion control systems and precision mechanisms
- Experience with high reliability aerospace programs and radiation-hardened environments
- Experience generating cost & schedule plans and estimates
Preferred Additional Skills
- MS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience as a lead engineer, project engineer, or IPT lead
- Experience supporting new business pursuits and writing technical proposals
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills for interfacing with senior management and customers as well as mentoring of associate engineers
- Active Secret (or higher) security clearance and the ability to satisfy requirements for a TS/SCI (SSBI).
