Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Facilities Director is a trusted business partner, providing facilities oversight and alignment across the Segment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the L3Harris Facilities policies and procedures and ensuring regulatory compliance for assigned facilities within the IMS Segment.
  • Develop Facilities business plans in support of Segment and Corporate Strategy and provide guidance for the successful implementation across the Segment.
  • Act as the liaison between the Segment and Corporate Global Real Estate team.
  • Manage Capital Expenditure program for the Segment to include recommended capital improvements and operational changes to existing facilities Serve as key contributor in Capital process in coordination with Finance and Operations.
  • Offer guidance to senior leadership on maintenance and equipment end of life (EOL) issues using ROI, and other analytical techniques.
  • Lead or oversee facility expansions at one or more sites to include gaining corporate approval, designs, layouts, demolition and construction.
  • Oversee major projects and personnel of construction, maintenance, utility system repairs, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, auto mechanic, aircraft support equipment, and/or general maintenance.
  • Serve as point of contact for planning, allocation, and utilization of space and resources assisting with the coordination of building space allocation and layout.
  • Manage vendor support and equipment relationships and leverage Segment network size to maximize economies of scale.
  • Facilitate corrective actions for Corporate L3Harris internal facility & FM Global audits by setting priorities, forecasting, and helping to define resources needed to complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze and develop process improvements to advance efficiencies in facilities operations.
  • Gather and analyze data concerning facility and/or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion dates, construction feasibility and estimated costs.
  • Collect, measure, and analyze key performance indicators to improve L3Harris processes and improve Segment performance.
  • Maintain responsibility for succession planning, organizational and talent development for the Facilities organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management or Construction Sciences from an accredited university or college along and fifteen (15) years of prior related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires US citizenship.
  • Experience managing a minimum of 6 geographically dispersed facilities
  • 10+ years managing global Capital Expenditures
  • 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing facilities planning, engineering, and construction management.
  • 5+ years’ of space planning software (I.e. AutoCAD)
  • 5+ years’ working with local governments to understand and obtain permits
  • 5+ years’ experience in writing business justifications and producing formal funding requests for capital projects
  • 5+ years’ experience with Industrial Real Estate transactions
  • 5+ years’ experience making recommendations to management regarding activities or equipment assessed, and recommended solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating RFP’s and scopes of work
  • Aerospace or defense experience highly desired
  • Strong working knowledge of local code compliance, OSHA and other related regulations with the ability to work with local, state, and federal agencies for required permits and applicable activities.
  • OSHA Electrical safety program implementation and management a plus.
  • Experience with ISO 9001
  • Strong working knowledge of local code compliance, OSHA and other related regulations with the ability to work with local, state, and federal agencies for required permits and applicable activities.
  • Competent computer skills related to Microsoft office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Dynamic and active communicator – able to personally lead selected projects and communicate with external firms and consultants
  • Strong collaboration skills – demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
