Job Description:
The Program Management, Lead will directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
- Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
- Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
- Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
- Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
- Expands the product line with the customer.
- Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to effectively interface with diverse cultures.
- Ability to understand and implement EVMS, 6-Sigma, lean manufacturing and project management tools with particular emphasis on scheduling of complex inter-related activities.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communications skills.
- Maintains transparent, performance-based communications with all levels of leadership.
- Ability to:
- Develop and execute high level project plans
- Lead teams or groups in a matrix organization
- Manage multiple work streams with conflicting objectives
- Create effective negotiation strategy, taking into account the needs of multiple vested parties
- Anticipate and take ownership resolving all business issues related to managed work streams.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
- Must have an understanding of Government contract types such as Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP).
- Knowledgeable of subsystems and components used for aircraft modifications, as well as experience in developing Statements of Work (SOW).
- Must have some Risk Management experience.
- Must have experience in aerospace and/or defense industry, as well as some experience in technical program planning, and cost and schedule development; fixed wing and rotary wing experience desired
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with Project.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
- Alternate shift work, weekends, and overtime as required
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a USG Security clearance
Preferred Skills (beyond required):
- USAF Big Safari program background and expierence
- Strong financial education and expierence background
- Active USG TS security clearance
