Job Description:

Machine a wide variety of complex mechanical parts to support modifications on aircraft systems with no assistance, and can coach and mentor junior machinists.

Job Requirements:

You will demonstrate success by:

• Build complex parts to comply with drawing specification.

• Perform various and routine fabrication on CNC mill, CNC punch, CNC brake press, manual mills, lathes and hand fabrication of sheet metal parts.

• Must be able to interpret drawing and build parts to tight tolerances.

• Must be able to edit and troubleshoot CNC machine code, to produce complex parts to engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance and program software.

• Must have basic shop math skills.

Duties Include:

Report job constraints such as: errors caused by workmanship, defects in parts, materials, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc., in accordance with procedures
Exhibit exemplary housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) standards
Possess understanding and knowledge of basic computer systems and programs
Ability stand for long periods of time, and work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required
Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
Must adhere to policy regarding PPE (personal protective equipment)

Preferred Skills (beyond required):

H/S diploma or GED + 2 years’ experience
May substitute experience with completion of a trade school providing CNC machine shop education.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance
Must be able to read and write the English Language
Must be able to work overtime, any shift, and weekends as required.
Must be able to pass pre-employment background, drug, & medical screening; subject to FAA requirements and random substance abuse screening.
