Job Location: Waco, TX
Job Description:
As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will design & test hardware, manage projects, & mentor junior engineers. This role typically includes updating & integrating current product lines for a wide range of customers, leading/managing projects, working with suppliers, and assisting with manufacturing processes. This individual will be required to communicate and collaborate with program management, suppliers, engineering technicians, and various engineering disciplines e.g. software, systems, and mechanical engineering.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Must have U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
- Responsibility for the design and overall quality of complex electronic sub-systems.
- Estimate time of execution, report progress, and deliver projects.
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Preferred Skills (beyond required):
- Familiarity with FPGAs (Xilinx, Altera, or Intel)
- Familiarity with PCB design & Schematic Capture Software (Mentor Graphics, Altium, Eagle, Etc.)
- Analog Circuit Design & Troubleshooting experience
- Electronic Unit level qualification testing (EMI, Vibration, Environmental, TEMPEST)
- Understanding of the electronic components market and current offerings
- Familiarity with Fiber Optics Transceivers & Testing
- Familiarity with communications protocols (SPI, I2C, Serial, Ethernet, OC12)
- Automated testing & LabView experience
- Manufacturing Engineering experience & LEAN experience
