About Aeromet

L3Harris -Aeromet is a Division of Integrated Mission Systems Segment with its main office located in Tulsa, OK. L3Harris-Aeromet is established within the DoD Community as the developer and operator of special mission ISR systems. We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.

Job Description:

  • Will serve as an architectural interface with other L3Harris divisions and Industry.
  • Will provide implementation of architectures and frameworks to build-up reusable components in a modern DevOps pipeline
  • Will provide proposal input and review to ensure division and industry architectural approaches/standards are leveraged and utilized.
  • Will provide mentoring on general development practices to junior engineers and participate in recruiting additional talent for the site
  • Will work with Systems Engineering to ensure MBSE approaches feed into software designs and implementations.
  • Will work with senior leadership to plan long-term architectural objectives and roadmaps

Essential Functions:

  • Provide implementation using modern software development and model based systems engineering tools, standards, design patterns, and architectures
  • Attend industry conferences and represent L3Harris
  • Recruit team members to the division while interfacing to functional managers.
  • Write and review proposal input in order to win new business.
  • Work with program management to ensure that technical goals are being met.
  • Collaborate with universities and educational facilities to advocate for needed software development skills.
  • Serve as a mentor to division software engineers.
  • Stay current with modern technologies and collaborate with the division technical fellow and leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance. Active clearance is preferred.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a member of a multi-disciplined integrated product team.
  • Must be responsible and accountable to yourself.
  • Must be familiar with AS9100 and CMMI and how those standards are effectively implemented as part of software engineering
  • Has experience developing Mission Systems and domain knowledge of their use.
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) contracting and risk reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of DevOps approaches
