Description:

L3Harris Technologies, Electron Devices is currently seeking a Sr. Associate Operational Excellence in Torrance, CA. This role will help define operational and strategic operational excellence approaches to ensure business success by developing, sustaining and continuously improving business processes and customer satisfaction.

Roles and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Automate processes involved in the manufacturing of travelling wave tube (TWTs)
  • Develop automated stations and/or instrument existing stations to allow for data acquisition
    • Determine what equipment to purchase to instrument station
    • Work with the facilities department to get the equipment installed
    • Write software to automate the station and capture relevant data electronically
    • Add to an existing web-based interface that pulls the data and displays data in a user-friendly format
  • Lead small-scale, cross-functional improvement events yielding savings and efficiency returns
  • Use of Lean tools defining gaps between current state / future state and create action plans
  • Analyze data and metric performance to prioritize improvement events that directly affect favorable division performance
  • Train, educate, and mentor in the use of improvement tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 2 years of current relevant experience in manufacturing environments, including improvement event facilitation, improvement coaching, and leading organization wide improvements.
  • Programming experience needed
  • Experience interfacing with equipment through software through a variety of interfaces (Ethernet, GPIB, Serial)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word) skills required

Preferred Skills

  • 2+ years in electronic manufacturing environments
  • Lean and or six sigma training
  • Desired programming languages: Visual Basic .NET, SQL, PHP, Javascript, HTML, Python, LabView
  • Familiarity with Vacuum
  • Familiarity with PLCs
  • Experience with MRP systems and business financial measures
