Your next role

At L3Harris in Brighton we are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. We are specialising in high performance electro-mechanical systems and pneumatic technology for airborne weapon carriage release. As a Stress Engineer, you will work within an IPT environment and liase with a variety of experts to understand the complex mechanisms that are in the design phase. Hand calculations and stress analysis will be a major component of this role.

What the role will involve

If you’re invited to join our team of dedicated experts, the responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Conducting finite element analysis using ANSYS for structural dynamic analysis of individual parts and multi-body assemblies.
  • Hand calculations based on strength of materials and structural mechanics theory.
  • Communicating and presenting to the design teams.

What you’ll bring

The role of Stress Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office tools (Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Experience with ANSYS
  • Experience with Mathcad and Matlab
  • Experience with Solidworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Materials Science Engineering is preferred
