Job Description:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Associate is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring company environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations. Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS.  Assist with a variety of duties, observations, training and inspections.  Assist with root cause analysis and recommend corrective action where EHS hazards exit.  Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.

Essential Functions:

·Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, local and corporate environmental and safety regulations

·Support illness/injury prevention by conducting inspections, and assisting with risk safety analysis

·Provide support and oversight of hazardous waste management program

·Conduct audits in relation to safety and environmental compliance

·Assist with injury/accident investigations

·Conduct investigations into employee concerns

·Coordinate, track and assist with sustainability initiatives

·Continuously review operating methods for compliance and to identify areas of improvement


·Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

·2+ years of experience with PowerPoint, Excel and safety software

·Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

·Current DOT and Hazwoper training

Preferred Additional Skills:

·Professional certificate in occupational health and safety

·Understanding of federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines

·Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
