Job Location: San Diego, CA
Job Description: This role would provide quality inspection support to program as they ramp-up hardware production and support test activities.
Inspection support includes CCAs, modules, chassis level inspection as well as test readiness activities and test monitoring.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to determine acceptance or rejection
- Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings
- Utilize measurement devices tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales and dimensional measurement systems
- Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling
- Document non-conformances and take photos of discrepancies
- Visual inspections of hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens
- Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes
- Experience in component test environment such as Temperature / Altitude test chamber and test equipment inspection/validation
- Support in evaluating First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certs
- Inspect per IPC, ESD, Solder, CCA inspection, module, and chassis level inspection experience.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 years of prior related experience.
- Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Certified to IPC-A-600
- Certified to IPC-A-610
- Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620
- CMM/Mechanical inspection
- Experience working in a Receiving Inspection department inspecting small complex mechanical parts.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $35,000 - $66,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
