Position Purpose:

  • New product development and legacy support regarding the test of a wide variety of acoustic transducers.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Implementation of automated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)-based test systems from the requirements and design phases through development, documentation, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Use and automation of test equipment related to electromechanical transducers such as signal generators, digitizers, impedance analyzers, hi-pot testers, insulation resistance meters, etc.
  • Creation and revision of test plans and procedures
  • Participation in test readiness reviews
  • Capacity and accountability to successfully complete projects on-time and within budget
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to propose ways to improve product test functions and reduce production labor through automation
  • Ability to interface with other internal departments and potentially external customers in a professional manner
  • Reports to Test Engineering Lead for daily/weekly tasking and direction.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • LabVIEW software development skills (Certified LabVIEW Developer, or Certified LabVIEW Architect required)
  • Ability to lead and accomplish program-critical tasks during execution of aggressive program plans
  • 7-10+ years of related experience 
  • Working knowledge of piezoelectric technology beneficial
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and laboratory work, with intermittent work in an Acoustic Test facility.
  • Some exposure to seasonal weather, temperature extremes, water, and ice around the ATF.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, or lifting of test equipment.
  • Potential electrical and mechanical hazards around the ATF.
