Job Description:

Supervises individual(s) typically consisting of lower level professionals and/or higher level support employees. Leads, directs and reviews the work of direct reports to maintain workflow and productivity and ensure weekly objectives are achieved.   Candidate must have excellent communication and technical knowledge of product/process requirements and customer demands

-        Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for own organization

-        Reports to Associate Manager or higher

-        Communicates with parties within and outside of own department, which may include customers or vendors

-        Explains and interprets policies, practices and procedures of the area of responsibility to others within the organization

-        Assist, coach and mentor support level employees using established guidelines, procedures, policies and training

-        Work consists of making moderate improvements to processes, systems, solutions or products to enhance performance of the job area

-        Collects data to identify root cause of problems, formulates corrective actions to resolve problems, and measures performance against process requirements

-        Identifies, defines and addresses general problems that are typically within the immediate job area or team. Problems are generally solved through drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basis analysis

-        Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with moderate impact on the achievement of department results

-        Delivers operational results that have direct impact on the achievement of departmental results.

-        Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc. Will manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff)


-        4 years’ experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

-        Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree with a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

-        Engineering Technician experience preferred

-        Electromechanical and/or Cable/Harness manufacturing experience preferred

-        Previous management experience
