Description:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership on Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The System Engineer is responsible for the life-cycle support of wide-band data link systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. This includes requirements management, technical documentation, project management, design oversight, build and test support, system deployment and in-house technical support during the operational life-cycle of the system.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: proposal support, requirements analysis and management, design synthesis, documentation including participation in the generation of Statements of Work (SOW) and specifications, project planning, technical project management, subcontract control, and risk management. This person will be responsible for leading teams of system/design engineers.

  • Required technical skills include a solid understanding of communication theory, with a working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design and software development for satellite and/or line of sight communication systems.

  • Experience in requirements management and documentation is essential. Other key skills are risk management, project planning and technical project management. Design experience is a plus, as is experience in one or more of the following areas: high-rate communication systems, satellite communication systems, spread spectrum systems, communication networks, SONET transmission systems and higher layers of the OSI model.

  • The successful candidate will have good leadership skills, with the ability to guide and provide technical direction/vision for a given project. They will also be a strong contributor to integrated product team internal and external to the company.

  • The qualified candidate should be skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Easy Data, Requisite Pro, or similar tools. Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and presentation skills are necessary.

Qualifications

A BSEE/BSME and12 years or MSEE/MSME or equivalent technical degree with 4+ years of directly related work experience in an engineering environment is required.

Special Requirements: Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must have and be able to maintain a DoD security clearance. Candidate must be able and willing to travel within and outside the United States.

Additional Comments: This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicants skills, education and experience.
