TITLE: Facilities/ Maintenance Technician - Electrician
JOB LEVEL: Tech D
LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT
This position requires regular onsite, in plant hours in Salt Lake City, UT. Relocation will not be considered at this time.
These positions are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the facility, or on machines and equipment. Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, machine and equipment repair, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Periodically exposed to potentially hazardous conditions including extreme heat/cold, noise levels, lasers, electricity, radiation, machinery and equipment, toxic substances, chemicals, acids, gases, oils, flammables, and toxic metals. Occasionally required to perform work at an elevated location; ability to ascend/descend on ladders, balance, and work in high areas. Occasionally may move up to 100 pounds. Occasionally required to perform work in a confined space. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment
Repairs and maintains equipment including generators, UPS systems, air compressors, vacuum pumps and other manufacturing equipment
Determines defects in, repairs, electrical systems and other systems such as HVAC, Plumbing and mechanical
May be required to install and maintain high-technology clean room environments
Must maintain knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations
2 years of trade school AND an Electrician Apprenticeship, including licensing as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent.
2 years professional experience in commercial building and machinery maintenance.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Trade certifications in air-conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, mechanics, plumbing/pipe fitting, and welding or equivalent education, training and/or experience may be preferred.
