L3Harris Communication Systems (CS) is the leading global supplier of secure radio communications and embedded high-grade encryption solutions for military, government and commercial organizations and a leading supplier of assured communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and transportation markets, with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice and data networks to portable and mobile single- and multiband radios.
This is a key finance manager role within Operations Finance, providing financial leadership, analysis and support for $1B TCOM Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization. This is a unique role to learn about the TCOM manufacturing site in Rochester, and opens up many opportunities for long-term career growth in Finance and Operations within the TCOM sector and CS segment.
Essential Functions:
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis and reporting for the operations management team. Includes forecasting and analysis of departmental expenses, cost reduction/e3 savings, OCOS analysis and forecast, capital and headcount capacity; manage and develop team of analysts
- Servce as finance liaison to Operations and CS Controller group/SOX champions on all matters related to internal and external audit
- Support production and material planning teams with integration from SATCOM to TCOM Global entity in CY23 (special project)
- Oversee the annual product standard setting process and annual AOP process for Operations
- Support internal & external audit requirements
- Prepare/deliver monthly financial reviews and performs adhoc analysis as required.
- Review, analyze and provide explanation for operational efficiency metrics.
- Investigate production and purchasing variances as well as understanding the impact to inventory.
- Work with manufacturing team to analyze Cost of Poor-Quality metrics to develop actions plans to drive down waste.
- Provide support to manufacturing cost reduction teams for the e3 initiatives
- Provide analysis & reporting of the key product standard costs and planned product cost reduction an as-needed basis, and review with the PLM and Engineering organization.
- Review planning and forecasting methods used by operations finance team for efficiency, consistency & potential improvements.
- Provide ad hoc financial support & analysis (Make vs buy, new product introduction, etc...)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
Perferred Qualifications
- 10 years of finance experience with relevant experience in cost accounting or operations/manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with an ERP system (Oracle/SAP/etc).
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- MBA or Masters degree
