Job Description:
The Associate, HR Business Partner (HRBP)serves an important role in propelling our Tactical Communications (TCOM) business forward as we endeavor to be the employer of choice, by directly supporting our efforts in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. The HRBP will utilize their strong interpersonal skills to communicate with groups inside and outside of the HR function, partnering on key initiatives, explaining and interpreting processes, practices, and procedures.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, HR Business Partner of the TCOM Sector within L3Harris’s Communication Systems segment. It presents a unique opportunity to learn and influence our integrated Operations business by providing daily support to our teammates at our Jefferson Road Operations Center (JROC) facility, supporting projects related to employee relations, engagement, talent development, and performance management initiatives. The preferred location for this position is Rochester, New York.
Essential Functions:
- Perform administrative tasks for the HR department (leave management/ HRIS updates/ purchase orders).
- Analyzes trends and metrics (as it relates to talent acquisition, attrition, diversity, performance, etc.) and supports the development of solutions, programs, and policies.
- Partners with business leaders, HR business partners, and Center of Excellence to positively impact employee culture through matters related to employee relations, training and development, performance management, compensation, diversity and inclusion, and talent acquisition.
- Ability to provide proactive recommendations and propose solutions to influence daily employee engagements and activities.
- Ability to influence and navigate decision making without formal authority.
- Performs project management duties and team facilitation as appropriate.
- Manages and supports HR projects as assigned.
- Requires a high degree of professional integrity, with an eye for attention to detail.
- Applies strategic approach to verbal and written communications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent area.
- GPA of 3.0 or greater
Preferred Additional Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Highly adaptable and able to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Experience coaching business leaders and supporting organizational change.
- Familiarity with Performance Management, Employee Relations and Staffing.
- Possesses and demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Experience leading projects and utilizing HR metrics and analytics to make recommendations and inform talent decisions.
- Strength in building relationships and ability to engage with employees at all levels.
- Solid business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- Experience and ability to successfully operate in a functionally-matrixed environment.
- Ability to work as a contributing member of a team as well as operate independently.
- Results oriented, proactive and resourceful - has a track record of delivering on commitments
- Must be able to travel domestically.
