Job Description:

The Agile Coach, will be responsible for supporting the programs in their journey to adopt Agile methodologies as a new way of working. He/she will be responsible for guiding teams through the implementation process and are tasked with encouraging workers and leadership to embrace the agile method. The agile coach’s ultimate goal will be to arm agile teams with the right knowledge, tools and training so that the team will be able to use agile to its full potential. The Agile Coach will provide hands-on coaching, guidance, and support to all members of teams, primarily in the development of high-quality products using agile mindsets, methods, practices, and tools. They will deliver tangible solutions using lean principles, iterative agile development, multi-functional teams, and lightweight development concepts. The Agile Coach will focus on leveraging Product Discovery, Agile Extreme Programing, Scrum, and Kanban techniques to facilitate learning. The role of an Agile Coach will be to apply agile methods to assemble and deliver user-friendly solutions. The Agile Coach will gain experience across multiple technologies and applications and directly impact the agile process and transformation across L3Harris and embark on a continuous successful agile transformation effort.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and members to help them in their journey of adopting Agile methodology
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Agile development methods and processes
  • Provide coaching and training at the program and team levels in an emerging Agile environment.
  • Perform in various agile roles, including Scrum Master, where needed. i. e. plan, coordinate and facilitate scrum ceremonies, retrospectives, long-range planning, user stories, dashboard
  • Coach management in Agile & Lean practices to enable them to be effective Agile Champions
  • Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the program and customer
  • Capture metrics to monitor/enhance teams’ performance and agile maturity level
  • Drive the required cultural transformation in adopting the new way of working i. e. DevOps culture and agile development methodologies
  • Participate and contribute actively to continuously evolve processes to align to enterprise agile transformation strategy
  • Provide expertise in visualization of flow of work, controlling Work in Progress (WIP), managing queue sizes and batch optimization of work.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other technical degree and nine (9) years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Position requires and active DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US citizenship.
  • Coach agile teams in the methodology.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program.
  • Integrate related methodologies with the company.
  • Develop standards and requirements for the agile process.
  • Provide training to employees on the agile process.
  • Help Teams navigate agile tools and software.
  • Encourage employee and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suites, DOORS, Confluence and Jira.

Preferred Skills (beyond required):

  • Certified Agile Coach Certification
