What the role will involve

Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Integration and Sustainment Centre is a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Defence Australia programs with through life maintenance support. Within this facility the Senior Supervisor, Engineering Services is responsible and accountable for the delivery of maintenance services, supervision, and technical administration requirements as defined in the organisation’s MMP. The Senior Supervisor, Engineering Services has direct responsibility and accountability for making technical integrity decisions within their allocated level of Technical Authority and assists the Supervisor, engineering Services by providing advice on technical integrity issues.

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Managing a team of technicians delivering maintenance services IAW program requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety plant and hazardous chemical requirements for technical maintenance activities.
• Managing technical maintenance IAW the MMP.
• Maintaining a record of technical maintenance personnel qualifications, training, experience and competency standards.
• Monitoring standards of non-technical maintenance IAW relevant technical data.
• Ensuring technical maintenance is conducted IAW materiel-specific instructions, and that technical maintenance is correctly recorded, and the records maintained.
• Utilising a technical support network to the extent required to meet maintenance responsibilities.
• Ensuring technical staff are competent and qualified to undertake assigned technical functions.
• Creating and managing position, employment and/or job/task requirements for all positions requiring exercising Technical Authority (TA).
• Managing assessment of individuals required to exercise TA against their position, employment and/or job/task requirements.
• Assigning Technical Authority to individuals who perform technical maintenance activities.
• Providing technical advice to the Supervisor, Engineering Services and functional leads; and
• Advising the Supervisor, Engineering Services of any difficulties in complying with required policy or guidance, including appropriate recommendations for improvement.

What you’ll bring

The role of Senior Supervisor, Engineering Services requires the following experience and skills:

• 5 years’ of equivalent experience in leading a maintenance team within Defence industry.
• Knowledge in:
• Electronics, Communications and electrotechnology with applicable certifications..
• Technical Regulatory Frameworks.
• Maintenance Management Systems.
• Contract key performance measures and indicators.
• International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
• Minimum: AQF level 4 / Certificate IV in applicable Technical Trade
