JOB PURPOSE:

Located in Pinkenba, the L3Harris Sustainment Centre (ISC) is a multi-faceted maintenance support entity that provides the L3Harris Defence Australia programs with through life maintenance support. Within this facility, as a member of the Maintenance Team, this role is responsible for trouble shooting, problem solving and repair in support of a large fleet of digital radio equipment. Returning equipment to the user in a timely manner in a serviceable condition.

SCOPE:

Use test instrumentation and equipment to perform fault diagnosis of digital and analogue assemblies in customer support environments. Provide technical support and guidance to automatic test station operators. Support engineering functions as required. Use data collection tools to manage workflow and review failure trend analysis for contribution to continuous improvement programmes. Provide customer support in regard to product diagnostics as required which may involve customer site visits.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible for efficient and effective product diagnostics comprising RF, digital and analogue circuits.
  2. Responsible for accurate data collection associated with diagnostic findings and solutions.
  3. Provide feedback to management, engineers and peers regarding diagnostics, processes and tools.
  4. Provide assistance and coaching to peers and test station operators to further strengthen team capabilities.
  5. Ensure quality standards are maintained through best practice.
  6. To ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  7. Provide direct customer support in relation to product diagnostics as required.
  8. Joint weekly reporting to management team.
  9. Inventory management and record keeping.

EXPERIENCE / ACHIEVEMENTS

Essential

  1. Proven experience in RF, digital and analogue circuit diagnostics to module level.
  2. Proven experience in reading and interpreting technical information, engineering drawings and schematics.
  3. Proven ability to schedule and prioritise work when presented with challenging targets to meet customer requirements.
  4. Proven experience in conducting technical analysis, communicating findings, conclusions and recommendations.

Desirable

  1. Understanding of network protocols.
  2. Experience in RF, digital and analogue circuit diagnostics to component level.
  3. Prior ADF experience in Technical Maintenance.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  1. Proven experience in reading and interpreting technical information, engineering drawings and schematics.(Same as point 2 in Experience)
  2. Proven experience in fault diagnostics with digital and analogue circuits to module level.
  3. Proven experience in setting up and using test instrumentation to replicate Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) failures for diagnostics purposes.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Certificate III in applicable Technical Trade.
