This type of scam is normally carried out through fake websites, job postings, chat applications, or email accounts claiming to be from L3Harris. To help spot these scams, remember that during our formal recruitment process, L3Harris will NOT (1) ask you for money; (2) offer to send you a check before doing any work; (3) require you to provide sensitive personal information early in the process or sensitive information about your previous employer; (4) send you emails from free commercial services (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail).

SYSTEMS PROTECTION DIVISION
POSITION TITLE: Repair Technician
Under general guidance of the supervisor, will perform a variety of complex operations to test the electrical and mechanical characteristics of circuit breakers, and all related parts and assemblies. Conduct various regular and special electrical tests on all types of circuit breakers, and associated components. Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, to confirm the integrity of product operations, identifying root cause for discrepancies and performance failures. Set up and use test boards and instruments including ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, oscilloscope, ohmmeter, and other similar metering and recording apparatus. Make necessary connections, operate breakers, and use low and high voltage equipment to test resistance, heat and dielectric factors, load, timing, and similar performance characteristics. Will also be required to utilize personal computer and/or computerized technology such as in testing product and/or related recordkeeping. Verify completeness, location and proper functioning of all instruments, meters and other components. Check equipment and interpret proper electrical-mechanical clearances. Conduct special tests under direction of engineering personnel. Conduct final tests on regular line breakers and test special or rarely encountered breakers following established practices. Make necessary calculations. Read and interpret complex drawings, schematic diagrams, specification sheets, performance charts, test standards and other procedures. Check function of controls, relays, indicators, and other electrical features and make adjustments as necessary. Check and adjust calibration. Reject defective breakers; prepare and test reports and keep required records. Troubleshoot circuit breakers, and other related components to the sub-assembly and/or root-cause level, to determine cause of malfunction. Work with and instruct testers and other assembly personnel to insure that preliminary and routine tests are carried out correctly; verify changes and explain new procedures. Occasionally make up or repair test boards.
In addition, under general guidance of supervisor, follow all prescribed procedures, inspect all types of circuit breakers and other SPD products visually or mechanically at various stages of assembly, at test stands, floor, bench, or inspection stations, and at final completion using necessary gauges and/or fixtures. Use scale, dial calipers, tape measure, feeler gauges, and micrometers, and set up and use any special apparatus or instruments to assure parts or assemblies are within specifications. Check for completeness and for secure and proper installation of parts, sub-assemblies, wiring, connections, insulation, and other components, and check spare part items and packages. Note any breakage or other damage. Check completeness of final assembly including finish and special features. Insert breaker into fixture and operate breakers mechanically or electrically to check function, calibration, or other related requirements. Make high-potential dielectric tests. Follow process sheets and refer to drawings, specification sheets, and similar data for inspection standards. Make routine adjustments, corrections, 100% inspect or reject defective items until corrections are made. Define discrepancies and prepare inspection reports and communicate these conditions. Maintain required records, forms, charts, etc. Occasionally make minor repairs on test equipment.
This position requires an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics, technical trade school formal certification, or equivalent.
