Job Description:

L3Harris Space Systems is seeking a Program Manager for the ISR Space business area reporting into the ISR Space General Manager. As a member of the ISR Space business in the Space Systems Sector, the Strategy & Technology Leader drives the strategic direction of the business in coordination with the General Manager. This individual will lead the joint strategic planning (“JSP”) process, assess market viability, prioritize investment direction, shape the portfolio, and provide consulting expertise and project management for specific strategic activities critical to the General Manager. This role provides problem-solving leadership, conducts analysis and research, develops recommendations, and communicates well-articulated conclusions verbally and through written presentation material to the leadership team. This role is a translator of market and business ideas into clear, concise, and compelling strategic direction. The leader will drive new technology and business to capture new Space opportunities as well as identify viable pursuits (working with the Business Development team) to drive year over year growth. They will have oversight of business enterprise operations (including capital and discretionary investments) and strategic planning.

Essential Functions:

• Provide strategic advisement and recommendations to ISR Space General Manager, ISR Business Development, and the ISR IRAD Management on market, portfolio and strategy related to DOD and National Security Space programs
• Develop and iteratively improve a cohesive, long-term strategy that addresses market/customer needs, technology development, differentiated solutions, customer relationships and organizational alignment for end-to-end ISR space programs in DOD and National Security Space
• Lead the development of the business area inputs to the sector annual Joint Strategy Plan (JSP) process Cultivate strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Coordinate with Division and Sector counterparts to ensure continuous alignment between strategies and investments
• Analyze market intelligence and industry trends to provide competitive analysis Evaluate internal capabilities to identify interrelationships and synergies among businesses Craft go-to-market and monetization strategies for products/services and customer segments
• Create compelling executive-level business presentations to inform and facilitate decision-making Structure work plans and project scope to deliver business impact on high priority issues
• Translate complex technical and business information into visually-compelling and crisp messages Help define a consistent approach and templates for creating and delivering presentations to leadership
• Evaluate and shape business area portfolio focus Recommend areas to increase and decrease emphasis
• Responsible for improving upon existing or establishing new processes and systems using significant conceptualization, reasoning and interpretation
• Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem

Qualifications:

Active Current Top Secret Clearance Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• 12 years project management experience and skills, ideally related to global corporate strategy (ideally aerospace space systems industry or other relevant technology market) including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Minimum of 4 years of consulting experience with a leading strategy consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Booz)
• MBA
• Minimum of 5 years project management experience with Department of Defense, Intelligence Community
• High level of business/financial acumen; global business acumen in defense or aerospace and/or relevant technology markets with broad knowledge of changing defense markets
• Prefer candidate looking to transition from technical background into marketing, business development or program management
• High-energy, creative and dynamic
• Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals, even when having no direct authority over them
• Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis, communicates results effectively, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results
• Strong executive presence as well as ability to effectively influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization
• Ability to think abstractly and analytically to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to internal customers, teammates and external constituencies
• High level of integrity, open and productive collaboration, teamwork across multiple functions within the division
• Proven proficiency to prioritize tasks and organize a workload to ensure most important issues are addressed first
• Competency making decisions with imperfect and incomplete information
• Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
