Job Description:

  • Lead a team of safety professionals in execution of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) and across all functions within the segment (manufacturing, engineering labs, etc.).
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining:
    • Leadership led safety rollout
    • EH&S policies and procedures to meet regulatory and best in class industry standards
    • Programs and goals to reduce the probability and severity of EH&S incidents
    • Injury trending, broad reaching Root Cause/Corrective actions, Short- and Long-term action plans, and fostering ownership of these action plans ensuring success
    • Management of Gensuite (a software safety management system) in EH&S Performance Management to meet targeted goals for incident reduction
      • Tight control of injury and case management
      • Management of Environmental, Sustainability, and Remediation programs
      • Audit efforts driving leading indicators
  • Provide key deliverables to business partners and sector leaders:
    • Injury performance data
    • Environmental performance data
    • Audit findings, plan, and closure
    • Status of ongoing EHS efforts
  • ISO Certification and Maintenance efforts
  • Accountable for planning, organizing, and controlling the EH&S budget
  • Manage 3rd party contractors performing EH&S functions
  • Lead Segment EHS Sr. Manager to advise Business Segment Executive Management on EH&S compliance
  • Analyzes, reports and drives continuous improvement of EH&S performance based on the Gensuite management system and other Company and Segment-wide tools
  • Contributes to EHS Communication Plan
  • Coordinates responses, resolutions, and recommendations for Location, Segment, and Company-wide EH&S issues
    • Manages assignments, follow-up and closure in Gensuite EHS Concern Reports
    • Initiates and ensures that investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions are conducted in a complete and timely manner providing remedial actions to achieve effective incident prevention and avoidance of losses
    • Manages reporting, dispositions work relatedness, and case tracking in Gensuite Initial Injury Report and Gensuite I&I Case tools
    • Manages corrective actions assignments in Gensuite Action Tracking Tool
    • Supports the EHS Steering Committee – The Executive Leadership team for the business segment
    • Supports Corporate EHS Council – The collaborative team for the corporation consisting of EHS representatives across all Business segments
  • Provide tools and direction to the regional team to foster growth and expertise
  • Ownership of the region’s management of change process team including, but not limited to:
    • Indoor Air Quality
    • Powered industrial trucks
    • Aerial lifts
    • Crane and sling
    • Industrial hygiene (chemical exposure and lab hygiene)
    • Respirator
    • Radiation Safety
    • Ergonomics
    • EH&S training program
    • Job Safety Analysis program
    • Regulated Waste
    • Air Pollution Control
    • Water and Wastewater Management
    • Storm water Control
    • All Environmental Permits
    • DOT/Hazardous Waste and materials transport
    • Pollution Prevention Plan
    • Electronic Wastes Procedure


  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of prior related EGS experience, or a Master’s degree with 13+ years of prior related EHS experience
  • 5+ years experience managing a team of EHS employees

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Health and Safety Engineering with 10 years minimum experience
  • 10 years’ experience with OSHA compliance within a wide array of workplaces including chemical labs, manufacturing, and construction worksites
  • ISO Certification and Maintenance efforts
