L3 Technologies MAS, located in Mirabel (QC), Ottawa (ON) and Enfield (NS) is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.

As Embedded Software Developer at L3 MAS you will:
  • An active member of a software development team for the CC150 Link-16 project.
  • Reviews technical documentation and derives software requirements.
  • Develops assigned software modules for the acquisition of data using multiple and various communication protocols.
  • Documents assigned software modules.
  • Performs software unit testing and software integration testing.  Contributes to system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and completes technical investigations.
  • Performs other technical tasks as assigned.

Required:

  1. C and C++ code, debug and development experience
  2. Experience working in Agile Software Development Environment
  3. Engineering Background (BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering) with some hardware background.
  4. Demonstrated code development experience working with communication protocols. (Ethernet/ARINC 429, 1553, RS232/422 and other serial protocols). Candidate should be able to write low-level embedded code, adapters for ARINC-429, troubleshoot and integrate with software systems.
  5. Experience with embedded systems including hardware/software integration.
  6. Experience with IDE such as Visual Studio or Eclipse for code development.
  7. Ability to work across software-hardware boundaries and troubleshoot.
  8. Aid in acceptance testing with customers.
Other Highly Desired Competencies:
  1. Knowledge of RTCA/DO-178c software life cycle process
  2. Any demonstrated experience on code development in Integrated Modular Avionics (ARINC 653, ARINC 664) is a strong plus.
  3. A go-getter team player with problem solving attitude.
  4. Avionics experience is an asset.
  5. Understanding of tactical data link such as Link-16, associated aircraft component (hardware and software) and experience planning, developing, integrating and implementation of aircraft data networks.
Operational requirements :
  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
