Job Title: Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, Senior

Job Description:

Develop and maintain a Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) program for new and existing products. Prepare reliability predictions, analyses and documentation required to ensure the product will meet the defined R&M requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Take a leadership role in R&M design to meet contractual requirements/expectations for new products and proposal efforts.
  • Analyze equipment design for reliability and maintainability (R&M) design aspects.
  • Review selected equipment for R&M performance and determine suitability.
  • Provide feedback to the design team related to tradeoffs and issues regarding R&M
  • Support part selection for product design efforts and obsolescence analyses.
  • Participate in the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Safety, and Human Factors plans and related analyses.
  • Contribute to the development scheduled/corrective maintenance procedures, spare parts lists, and tools & test equipment lists.
  • Analyse Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) requirements
  • Develop Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis
  • Contribute to the development of Technical Manuals and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
  • Lead R&M activities in design reviews with designers, program management and customers.
  • Independent development of R&M plans & related analyses based upon contractual program requirements.
  • Ensure quality through adherence to the Quality Systems Manual, applicable Standard Work Instructions, and other standards invoked internally or contractually.
  • Prepare estimates for manpower, schedules and other resources needed to complete projects.
  • Use of Reliability Modeling and Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) software
  • Adhere to budget and schedule commitments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Reliaibility, Electrical, Mechancial Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Meets eligibility requirements to access US classified information
  • Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-217
  • Knowledge of R&M Modeling (Weibull)

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Access and relational databases
  • Knowledge and experience with COTS modeling software
  • Knowledge of Maintenance, Safety, and Obsolescence Research practices
  • Knowledge of Periscope, Optronic and Imaging Systems
