Job Location:Northampton, MA
Plan, analyze, survey and control to assure adherence to applicable quality requirements. Review new contracts to determine the quality assurance requirements and flow down requirements. Develop plans and methods for assigned programs to assure adherence to all contractual quality requirements and Division policies and procedures.
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts on developmental and initial production programs.
- Lead DFMEA initiatives on new product designs and PFMEA efforts on new production programs.
- Train stakeholders and participants on APQP and FMEA tools.
- Participate in Zero Defect Plan initiative and lead or support quality improvement projects.
- Core member of Corrective Action Board.
- Lead and report on Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts for significant events.
- Prepare progress or status reports as required. Confer with Program Managers on progress, cause and corrective action, risk mitigation plans and support cost reduction programs.
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement events/projects as required.
- Participate in Engineering design reviews, review engineering drawings for conformance to quality requirements and sign off on approved drawings.
- Function as or support to tradtional program Quality Engineer role may be required based on labor needs.
- Plan, analyze, survey and control to assure that all applicable quality requirements are adhered to in all phases of a program, including engineering design through customer acceptance.
- Review assigned Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs), determine quality assurance requirements and support Program Management and/or Contracts in the preparation of proposals. Prepare, or support the preparation of, cost estimates.
Qualifications: (refer to Career Framework)
- Knowledge of APQP process, including FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
- Lean and Six Sigma experience
- Experience in a regulated industry
- 6+ years Quality or Operational Excellence experience
- Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Current Secret level security clearance
- Familiarity with 8D RCCA methodology
- ASQ training and certifications
