Job Description:

The Sr. Associate, Project Manager is responsible for conducting technical analysis and supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance and non-ordnance handling operations of Peculiar and Special Support Equipment (PSSE) for submarines in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. 

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues.
  • Determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. 
  • Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. 
  • Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives. 
  • Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization. 
  • Coordinates and maintains inventories and shipments of PSSE. 
  • Works directly with customers for coordinating/scheduling submarine non-ordnance handling evolutions on Naval Station Norfolk.
  • Coordination and supervision of maintenance on Peculiar and Special Support Equipment.
  • Supervision of vertical launch non-ordnance handling evolutions on Norfolk, VA based submarines.
  • Serve as the Shop Supervisor, responsible for all aspects of safety, operations, and employee development for assigned personnel in a maintenance facility aboard Naval Station Norfolk, VA.
  • Working knowledge of Integrated Logistics Supply (ILS) System.
  • Leading and managing all aspects of employee shop operations for maintenance of Submarine equipment.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires practical knowledge of job area. Typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of prior project manager experience.
    • Graduate Degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of prior project manager experience.
    • In lieu of a degree, minimum of six (6) years of prior project manager experience.
  • Five (5) years full-time hands-on experience in the operation,maintenance, troubleshooting, handling and repair of submarine peculiar and special support equipment.
  • Five (5) years full-time technical experience in the installation, testing, and/or repair of mechanical systems/equipment supporting submarine operations.
  • Must have non-ordnance handling team lead and supervisor qualifications.
  • Rigger and Forklift operator qualified.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required at the time of hire.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with OSHA-10.
