RESPONSIBILIES

  • Perform system and software safety assessments of the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS);
  • Perform system safety integrity level assessment of the IPMS;
  • Generate system safety program plan, hazard analysis, safety assessment report and safety verification;
  • Analyze customer safety requirements and generate estimates;
  • Perform Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA, FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis), and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis);
  • Generate ILS deliverables from vendor data (LSAR, LORA, RBD, spares analysis, technical manuals, disposal plan, hazardous materials analysis, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be eligible for registration in the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada’s reliability status and Level 2 (secret) security clearance;
  • University degree in either engineering or computer science;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in naval or aerospace system safety/RMAS (Reliability, Maintainability, Availability and Safety);
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of these safety standards: MIL-STD 882, IEC61508, DEF STAN 00-56;
  • Knowledge and experience in performing hazard/risk analysis, safety assessment report, safety requirements specifications, safety case, FMECA (Failure Modes, effects and Criticality Analysis), FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis), FTA Fault Tree Analysis), RBD Reliability Block Diagrams);
  • Experience in software development;
  • Knowledge of C++;
  • Understanding ADA language is an asset;
  • Knowledge of ASD suite of specifications (S1000D, S2000M, etc.) is an asset;
  • Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project);
  • Excellent technical and presentation skills;
  • Results-driven mindset, problem-solving skills and analytical thinking;
  • Ability to work with a variety of internal and external customers with time sensitive demands;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Bilingual French and English with proficient English writing and spoken skills.
