About your next Challenge as a Specialist, System Engineering :
As Specialist, System Engineering - at L3 MAS you will perform as part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed or to be installed on airborne platforms.
Coordinate with Project Management to ensure the conversion of customer requirements, including informal requirements, into solutions that balance the technical, schedule and cost constraints for the system design.
What You Will Do:
- Apply knowledge of on-board systems (analog and digital) and Avionics Systems to Aerospace (i.e. define, design, develop, simulate, test, validate / verify);
- Ensure the adequacy between the established technical requirements and the proposed engineering solutions;
- Ensure the technical compliance of products and services in accordance with the needs of internal and external customers;
- Apply L3-MAS internal processes and policies (engineering, airworthiness, project management, quality, etc.);
- Apply aeronautical regulations, standards, and procedures (FAR, CAR, JAR, RAC, TAM, etc.) in order to support a certification file; Knowledge of the CF-18 Basis of Certification is an asset;
- Participate in technical reviews, problem solving activities;
- Prepare technical analyses and reports (FMEA, ELA, FHA …etc.);
- Analyze, design or modify wiring diagrams;
- Support technical activities and the customer during the production of prototypes.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information;
When required, you will be asked to:
- Perform Engineering trade studies on existing and new product technologies;
- Integrate and test, missions systems;
- Translate requests of the customer into system level requirements;
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design;
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelor degree in engineering (or equivalent) Electrical, Avionics and a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience.
Strongly prefer:
- Experience with military avionics systems including sensors, radio-navigation systems and inter-communication systems.
- Experience with Aircraft integration and ground/ flight test support;
- Experience with airworthiness regulations in FAR23 or FAR25 type of aircraft; Knowledge of DND TAM is an asset.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills in French and English;
- Experience working with subcontractors and Government customers;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying hardware;
- Experience developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans in a team environment;
- Familiarity with ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS232/422, Ethernet, and other serial protocols.
- Familiarity with industry System Engineering processes (ISO 15288, SAE ARP 4754) and tools (DOORS, PLM, etc.) is an asset.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and/or Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
- For on-site positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
