As Senior Specialist, Application Life Cycle Management at L3 MAS you will:
As an active member of the Software Engineering department at L3Harris MAS and in close collaboration with the Engineering Software and Systems delivery team and the Information Technology (IT) team, you are responsible for the implementation and operation of software that support engineering activities. Work requires close collaboration on multiple projects and technologies, interfacing with team members within the organization as well as external partners, subcontractors, and customers.

Essential Functions:

The Senior Specialist, Application Life Cycle Management, is responsible to:

  • Act as technical coordinator, when required, with business projects.
  • Define configuration according to the business requirements for CAD, CAE, CAM, FEA and other applications supporting the enterprise.
  • Be a key player in the definition of engineering tool standards, its management and enforcement.
  • Maintain vendor relations for tool capabilities.
  • Orchestrate licensing and procurement to maintain application availability.
  • Seek process automation using our PLM capabilities in conjunction with engineering software.
  • Provide utilization reporting, recommendations and capacity planning.
  • Build Trade studies when required.
  • Define business processes, use cases, test case for deployed solutions.
  • Support the installation and integration of PLM solutions with other software.
  • Manage the administration of engineering tools (software maintenance, deployment planning, issues management, upgrade and update).
  • Manage the environment security under his responsibility.
  • Analyze recommends, implements plans for improvement and optimization of performance, reliability and availability for the application under his responsibility.
  • Ensures the daily monitoring of the systems under his responsibility.
  • Provide detailed documentation of all implementations, changes and issue resolution.
  • Keep up to date with the latest computer technologies, know the latest systems and materials, and participate in development activities, as appropriate;
  • Occasionally provide general and specialized technical support and user support, as needed, on computer applications and systems under his governance; Might contribute to off-hour call support if required.

Qualifications:

  • The selected candidate must be eligible to meet requirements and conditions of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • A RELIABILITY security clearance will be required to start work.  A NATO SECRET security clearance is required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering with specialization in computer science or equivalent; or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimal 5 years in information technology with CAD, CAE, CAM, FEA and engineering system implementation and administration;
  • Ability and versatility in the implementation of technological solutions;
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defence sector is an asset;
  • Master the installation, configuration and administration of CATIA V5 and V6, Patran, Nastran, Matlab, Altair Hyperworks,  PLM 3DExperience;
  • Mastery of Linux and Windows operating systems;
  • Mastery of process definition and Business Process Model Notation (BPMN);
  • Mastery of Bash, Ksh, Powershell and other scripting/programming languages;
  • Mastery of DSLS and FlexLM licensing software;
  • Excellent understanding of VMware environment;
  • Excellent understanding Windows Server / Active Directory Services;
  • Skilled with Planning and Executing software deployments; (DevSecOps);
  • Excellent understanding of Project Management and DevSecOps;
  • Excellent understanding of solution architecting methodologies;
  • Knowledge of French an asset.

Operational requirements:

  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • Location not accessible via public transportation, car required. Remote work from home during COVID, hybrid afterwards.
