Tasks to be Accomplished

·Assist payroll administrator with preparation and processing of weekly and bi-weekly payroll on IP Payroll (Nethris) for over 1000 hourly and salary employees across Canada.

·Assist in production of all reports, RoE and file transfers.

·Plan and prepare year-end: pension adjustments, taxable benefits, R1, T4, T4A and all required filing.

·Research and interpret payroll legislation, tax laws to ensure government and reporting compliance.

·Work with collective agreements.

·Implement all required changes in our HR systems.

·Liaison with all other departments, employees, supervisors, government agencies, internal and external auditors

·Troubleshoot with Nethris regarding software/payroll issues

·Streamline payroll procedures - make recommendations, document, and implement


Skills Required

·       Ability to work independently and identify/respect confidential information

·       Highly organized and detail oriented with thorough follow up skills

·       Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

·       Advanced knowledge of Excel.

·       Proficient with MS Office

·       Knowledge of IP Payroll (Nethris) an asset

·       Knowledge of HR Expert an asset

·       Knowledgeable in payroll legislation and labour standards

·       Basic accounting knowledge

 
Experience & Education Requirements

·      5 - 7 years experience in a computerized payroll environment, preferably IP Payroll (Nethris)

·      College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience

·      Canadian Payroll Association Level 1 certification is required

 
Operational requirements :

·       Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;

·       Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;


Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
