As Electrical Engineering Analyst you will:
Working out of the Mirabel (QC) facility and reporting to the Engineering Manager your day-to-day activities will include the following roles and responsibilities:

  • With the guidance of group leads, write test procedures and test reports for internal and external use.
  • Updates to Existing Test Procedures.
  • Accurately provide and report status on projects.
  • Develop, update/monitor risks, issues and schedules and update plans.
  • Ensure the adequacy between the established technical requirements and the proposed engineering solutions;
  • Ensure the technical conformity of products and services in accordance to the internal and external customer’s needs;
  • Participate in technical reviews, problems solving activities;
  • Prepare analyses and technical reports;
  • Support the technical activities and the customer during prototypes realization.
  • Apply the regulations, the standards, and aeronautical procedures (FAR, CAR, JAR, RAC, TAM, etc.) to support a certification package;
  • Apply and ensure the application of the internal processes and the policies of L-3 (engineering, materials and processes, airworthiness, project management, quality, etc.);
  • Understanding of and ensure compliance with L3 MAS Ethics, Airworthiness, Engineering, and company procedures;

The incumbent is mainly responsible for providing support to Senior Systems Engineer and Project Leads. The team will be responsible for implementing engineering projects and services which are specifically related to avionics (command, navigation, communication, antenna, power and electrical circuit).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical or Aerospace) with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Requires 1 to 3 years professional experience preferably on Avionics or Electrical in an engineering capacity.
  • Experience & interest in integrated avionics or aerospace systems essential.
  • Experience or interest in an In-Service Support role on a Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft.
  • Knowledge of the standards ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 739, DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754, AS9100, MIL-STD-810 (Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests) and DO-160 (Test Environmental Conditions and Procedures for Airborne Equipment), etc.;
  • Knowledge of e-plan and DOORS 9.5 are an asset.
  • Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through higher education.
  • Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access);
  • Results oriented and knowing how to maintain the balance between professional commitments and personal obligations;
  • Some working knowledge with project plans, schedule (tools such as Microsoft Project)
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral);
  • Demonstrate integrity, is passionate, autonomous and team player;
  • Should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and have excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English.

Operational Requirements

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
