Avionics Technicians at a Glance

This team is one of our three primary teams responsible for maintaining Canada's CF-18 fleet.. These technicians are specialized in the avionics systems of the aircraft. Thanks to these teams, we have helped maintain and extend the useful life of the CF-18 while enabling the Department of National Defence to fulfill its role at home and abroad.

Several possibilities for task enrichment may be available to them. Our avionics technicians can be selected to fill quality control positions and perform certification tasks on aircraft. This position also offers opportunities to learn new state-of-the-art systems, such as new on-board communication and data encryption, navigation or radar systems. Finally, it also offers the opportunity to learn and be trained on new tasks, such as being a member of an emergency or damaged aircraft recovery team, wherever the Canadian Armed Forces are called upon to operate.

The expertise we are looking for

Our avionics technicians perform all the various maintenance or modification tasks on an aircraft. They must be excellent team players.

We are looking for people with a high level of professionalism who are passionate about aeronautics and who like to take on challenges.

    Operational requirements:

    Since L3Harris' MAS division is a supplier to several military and defence organizations across the country, we are required to meet the requirements of Canada's Controlled Goods Program. Each employee obtains certification under this program, which requires a thorough background check and which MAS will handle on your behalf.

L3Harris maintains a drug-free workplace and conducts pre-employment substance abuse testing and background checks, to the extent permitted by law.

    Life at L3Harris’ MAS division

    This is the most important part. Many companies say that their work is "exciting" or "challenging," or fast-paced. Our definition of these terms is slightly different. We are one of the only companies in the world to provide such services, have the customers we do, allow our employees to work on what we do, and to be able to say with certainty that what we do every day directly contributes to protecting people around the world.

    What else can you expect as an L3HARRIS MAS employee?

    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company and be recognized for your impact;
    • Real opportunities for growth, development, and career progression;
    • Have a flexible work schedule that allows you to balance work and personal life;
    • Participate in unifying sports and social activities organized by employees;
    • Enjoy access to exclusive on-site services such as massage therapy, cafeteria with outdoor terrace, fitness and language classes, seasonal tire change, annual vaccination clinic, electric vehicle charging stations, and more;
    • Benefit from some of the most attractive working conditions on the market with a comprehensive benefits plan, including a group insurance program adaptable to your needs and lifestyle, and group RRSPs with employer contribution.
