Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Specialist Software Engineer with a desire to work in a cooperative team environment with cross functional teams to develop and verify embedded software applications through the entire software development life cycle. This position will utilize a strong base of engineering principles, theories and techniques and a passion for relevant new technologies. Candidate will be required to implement requirements and develop software solutions for Modems, RF Transmission Systems, and Satellite Communication Systems.

Essential Functions:

Participate in the software development processes throughout the entire lifecycle, which includes use case development, requirements analysis, object-oriented analysis & design, implementation and software verification.
Participate in continuous iterative agile like software planning and development.
Collaborate with Systems, Electrical/Firmware, and RF engineers to ensure design and implementation meet customer requirements.
Perform unit, integration, and system-level test activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or other related technical discipline and 6+ years of relevant professional experience, OR, graduate degree in Computer Engineering or other related technical discipline and 4+ years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

4+ years of related C/C++ embedded software development experience.
Inter-process communication and multi-threaded programming experience.
Experience working with Linux systems and Network programming.
Experience with Atlassian tool suite as well as experience with iterative development methodologies like Agile.
Experience in embedded software development using C/C++/C#.
Experience with Wireshark and ability to analyze network traffic
Experience developing and deploying embedded software that has been used in real-world application and projects.
Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
Experience with DevOps tools including Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Confluence.
Experience in Real-time Operating Systems: VxWorks RTOS, Wind River Linux, etc.
Experience in Emulator/Simulator development to be run on multi-threaded OS
Ability to support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting for review.
Experience with database technologies (MySQL).
